Hi, my name's Finn.
I'm a photographer from the UK. A few years ago, I discovered something that changed my life, and I'd like to share it with you.
In 2016, I was working in an intense job with a hectic travel schedule that left me stressed and overwhelmed.
You probably know the feeling. A million thoughts racing around your head, to do lists and urgent tasks battling for attention, the fear of judgement and rejection.
I was raised to always approach life with a positive mental attitude, but I was struggling to feel happy and I couldn’t see a way through.
So I called up an old friend. This friend of mine had been going through a tough time too. He listened to me talk, then asked if I’d ever tried meditating.
I said ‘No mate… I can’t really cross my legs.’
He laughed and reassured me that meditation doesn’t require extreme flexibility, secret monk skills or years of training.
You just sit, and breathe...
Around the time I started meditating, I went home to visit my family, and another door opened.
On the table, something caught my eye. My Dad's silver and black Pentax film camera. It reminded me of family holidays in Spain and Greece in the 90s.
I asked if I could borrow it, so he showed me how to use it properly, all the dials and connections between them.
From that day, I’ve always had a camera with me, wherever I go. (I never did return that Pentax though, sorry Dad).
At first I took photos of the streets of London, the sky, the city.
As time went on, I saw moments of stillness and light that felt like visual metaphors for meditation.
In time, the Meditation Collection began to form.
I created the Meditation Collection to help people find a moment of calm, whether as a point of focus as they sit down to meditate, or just a beautiful print for their wall.
I’m not an expert, or trying to convince you of anything, I’m just sharing something I’ve found.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
My name is Finn Evans, I'm a photographer based in the UK and working globally. I work on both film and digital formats and my artwork is inspired by the simple beauty of the everyday world, with a particular focus on light, geometry and space.
My photography work has been featured on Sky Arts and selected by photography publications including Life Framer, Booooooom and Lens Culture. I have collaborated with brands including Boiler Room and ASOS and my work is collected both in the UK and abroad.
You can find me on Instagram @finnevans or on my daily photography walks in cities around the UK. Alongside my photography work I am a music producer and a brand consultant.
